An intergenerational creative empowerment project taking place in Enfield, bringing together young people aged 11-18 and older adults aged 55-85 through structured visual arts training, community exhibitions, and collaborative creative engagement, culminating in the UnitedKanvas co-creation project at the Forty Hill Estate.
About the Project
Artivation is an intergenerational creative empowerment project taking place in Enfield from September 2026 to July 2027, bringing together young people aged 11-18 and older adults aged 55-85 through structured visual arts training, community exhibitions, and collaborative creative engagement.
The project will train two participant groups over two six-month cycles, providing practical instruction in charcoal drawing, acrylic and oil painting, storytelling through visual art, and sustainable creative practices. Participants will develop artistic confidence, creative discipline, teamwork, and opportunities for public cultural participation through weekly workshops, mentoring, and exhibitions.

The Culmination
The concluding phase of Artivation will become UnitedKanvas, a large-scale public collaborative artwork project taking place in August 2027 at the Forty Hill Estate in Enfield.
UnitedKanvas will unite the creative contributions developed throughout Artivation into one monumental co-created artwork assembled from individually painted canvases contributed by participants, volunteers, artists, and members of the wider community at the Forty Hill Estate. The final work will celebrate unity, heritage, diversity, identity, and the cultural richness of the United Kingdom while showcasing the power of intergenerational creativity and public participation in the arts.
The project aims to transform creativity into a visible public statement about community connection, youth empowerment, and cultural inclusion. Through exhibitions, live performances, digital storytelling, and public engagement activity, Artivation and UnitedKanvas will create opportunities for communities to actively participate in culture rather than simply observe it.

Get Involved
Alongside possible private or public sponsors, the project will also seek wider public backing through community fundraising, sponsorship, donations, partnerships, volunteer involvement, and public advocacy. Local organisations, businesses, schools, creatives, faith groups, and community networks will be encouraged to support the project through resources, promotion, collaboration, and audience engagement.
Public support forms an important part of the project's long-term vision. By building strong community ownership around Artivation and UnitedKanvas, the project aims to create a sustainable creative platform that can continue empowering young people, supporting older adults, and strengthening cultural participation beyond the initial funded period.
